Burning Spear Editor Attacked by Tampa police!

Released Oct 16, 2014
Life Malcolm, managing editor of The Burning Spear newspaper and long-time activist against police terror in Tampa, FL, tells about how he was brutally attacked by Tampa police after being charged with animal abuse while caring for his family's terminally ill dog. Malcolm, who faces trial next month and a possible five years in prison for the charges, made this powerful presentation at the Sunday rally of the International People's Democratic Uhuru Movement on October 12 at the Uhuru House in St. Petersburg. Malcolm will be a speaker at the Day in Solidarity with African People, 6:30 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 23, sponsored by the Uhuru Solidarity Movement. The event, "Not One More Black Life; Reparations Now!" will also feature African People's Socialist Party Chairman Omali Yeshitela, who will have just returned from organizing on the ground in Ferguson, MO following the police murder of Michael Brown in August. The Day in Solidarity with African People will be held at the Uhuru House, 1245 18th Ave. South, St. Petersburg. For more information call 727-888-3797 or go to uhurusolidarity.org.
