On Saturday, March 31, 2012, the International People’s Democratic Uhuru Movement (InPDUM) will sponsor a march for Justice and African unity concerning the case of Trayvon Martin.

Martin was the 17 year old African youth murdered by George Zimmerman.

This march will be different from many of the other marches that have been held around the country in that it will call on Africans to unite for the long term, and get organized to fight against the oppression of African people.

From the terrible education that our children receive to the murders of our children by white mercenary crime watch thugs, we recognize that the attack on Trayvon Martin is part of a historical pattern of violence and terror against Africans in the U.S.

Jim crow laws and the lynching of hundreds of Africans in this country is nothing new.

This march will also demand reparations to the family of Trayvon Martin from the city government of Sanford, Florida.

In addition, the march will attempt to unite the disorganized African community to struggle for power and self determination.

Xavier Knowles, cousin of Trayvon Martin will be one of the speakers.

Assembly will begin at 11:00am at the Uhuru House, 1245 18th Avenue South in St. Petersburg, Florida.

Assembly will begin at 11:00am and the march will proceed west on 18th Avenue South to 16th Street South, then north on 16th Street to Central Avenue, then north on 5th Street to City Hall.
