Spokespersons for the Black is Back Coalition “Peace Through Revolution” Rally, March and Teach-In have declared their intention to hold the rally and march on Saturday, November 1st despite the threat of rain.

According to Coalition Chairman, Omali Yeshitela, the Coalition will march from Malcolm X Park at 3pm even if it does rain.

“The resistance must continue regardless of the weather,” declared Yeshitela. “If the peoples of Ferguson, Missouri, Haiti and Palestine can continue to resist under much more difficult circumstances, certainly we cannot allow rain to stop us from showing solidarity and advancing our own struggle,” Yeshitela continued.

If rain prevents the planned noon to 3pm rally at Malcolm X Park, 2400 15th St. NW, the pre-march rally will occur instead at St. Stephen’s Church, 1525 Newton St. NW.

After the rally at St. Stephen’s the people will assemble at Malcolm X Park at 3pm to begin the march to the White House. A post-march rally is currently being planned for another venue.

Sunday’s Teach-In at Howard University will occur as previously planned, beginning at 11am at Blackburn Center.
